Tattoos are about transformation
Both these photos are of me. Fairly but not blindingly obvious. On the left my beard is quite bushy and my newly tattooed flower ring around my neck is clearly visible.
On the right is my theatre photo taken for a play I was in last February (The colonel in John Osborne's Look Back in Anger). Only my moustache remained and with the help of the right clothing and a crevat a very conservative vision of the same person emerges.
I have long warned people that while it is human nature to judge people by appearances and we do this within seconds not minutes, I at least am someone capable of fooling you. If you met the "me" left or the "me" right, how different how those two judgements might be of me.
